Congratulations to Gary Waite for winning the first major of the year The Irish Trophy.
Hard luck to Mark Canhai Howell who had the best score of the day but hadn’t played in enough qualifiers.
All this week is the St. George’s Day Trophy, 18 hole stableford, this competition is open to all members so get your qualifying cards in.
Sunday is the Seve Trophy sponsored by Jose Carrasco.
If you entered the Jubilee Foursomes Trophy please arrange to play your first round matches. we are giving you a little longer because of the bad weather, but no excuses now.
Saturday 21st April is the first Major Board competition of the year “The Irish Trophy”
This is the also the first handicap qualifier.It will be played off the white grass tees, preferred lies on the fairway only.
Plugged balls in the rough can be rolled out.
Mud balls in the rough cannot be lifted or cleaned.
Please spread the word.
If you have any plans to play this Friday the 23rd march please be aware there is a large society of 80 playing from around 8.45, I’m not sure if they will be using the First and the tenth
So make sure you check with the Pro Shop.

Sunday’s Shotgun competition 25th February has been cancelled due to lack of competitors.
Usual tee times will resume.

The competition sheets are filling up nicely, but could we remind all members to pay their entrance fees.
Course still open despite all the rain. Anyway,would members look at the noticeboard for entry sheets for The Charles Diebel Trophy, this is the men’s singles knockout competition. Open to full members. Also The Vincent Marcantonio Trophy, this is a men’s four ball better ball knockout competition again open to full members.
Not wanting to exclude our wonderful ladies please enter The Jeanne Bell Trophy-A Mixed foursomes knockout competition open to all members.
Can members please insure their handicaps are active and fulfil the criteria required. It was decided at the AGM in November that all major competitions would require entrants to have entered at least 6 cards for their qualifying handicaps.
