Maylands Junior Academy has achieved great success during the previous golf season, including;

• South East Regional Champions
• English National Champions
• Four Nations Trophy Finalist
• British Junior Golf Tour Venue

The great achievements from last year was due to some hard work and dedication by the junior academy. Although still holding a strongteam much of the success was generated by our more senior juniors of whom have moved up to the senior golf level, two of which will be starting their PGA qualifications later this year.

The structure of the juniors starts from the Golf Passport coached by a PGA Head Professional, who has been at Maylands from junior golf through to playing on the golf tour for the past 24 years.

Maylands have introduced a new structure for junior members to allow beginners the use of the practice facilities and participatein the Golf Passport with our new Academy membership. The next step up from the Academy is a Junior Membership which will take the juniors up to the age of 18. It is in our best interest to keep our junior members competing for the club after the age of 18, for this purpose we offer a Cadet membership for any junior that has had 2 years in the junior section up to the age of 21. The new Student membership allows people in full time education to enjoy a discounted membership.

Maylands strive to support the junior academy throughout the year and is in the progress of working hard towards achieving a passmark from the highly accredited Golf Mark. Our Junior Organiser, has been working with the juniors for the past 11 years and is always on hand to arrange fixtures, competitions and offers advise alongside the club professional.
